The diagram shows a right-handed boomerang or for a right-handed person. For the left-hand boomerang, all elements are mirrored to the right-hand one: the leading wing changes with the driven one, the leading edges with the rear ones.
Basic terms
-
The leading wing (lift, lifting wing, control wing, control wing), as a rule, has a more significant influence on the flight of the boomerang than the driven wing. Relatively speaking, the leading wing is responsible for lifting and turning the boomerang.
-
Dingle wing. Corrects flight, can straighten or round the trajectory
-
Elbow
-
The leading edge of the wing (wing tip) is the front part of the wing separating the incoming air flow.
-
Rear edge of the wing
The center of gravity of the boomerang coincides with the center of rotation. If additional weights are installed on the boomerang, then the center of gravity shifts in the appropriate direction, changing the amplitude of the movement of the wings.
Setup Moments
-
Positive angle of attack. Increases the lift of the wing.
-
Negative angle of attack. Reduces the lifting force.
-
Positive dihedral. Promotes higher flight.
-
Negative dihedral
